Sharing a few more from the maternity and family photography session I shared last month. The family is expecting a baby girl in the fall-how exciting! They wanted to document this happy time with photographs of their San Francisco life before their move out of the city. It was a cold and foggy morning, but the fog lifted just in time for us to capture the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge in the background.  Big brother, Trevor,  was such a sweetheart with his mom. Snuggles and kisses galore! What is about boys and their moms?!

I’ve got twins on my mind after a visit from my brother’s family over the weekend. I was photographing his twins for their upcoming one year birthdays. YAY! More of those photos to come!  Meanwhile, I was reminded of a session that Mike and I photographed last year. Another set of boy/girl twins! I’ve been wanting to share these for a while now because I adore them so much!  There is just something so special about twins and much to my delight, I will be photographing them again this coming fall!

I bow down to all the mothers of multiples. I don’t know how you do it. I was wiped out after spending Saturday with the twins and I didn’t even do anything!!

This is something special.

The Morning Benders and The Big Echo Orchestra perform “Excuses” in San Francisco. Thank you Michael for sending me this amazing video! “We’ll still be best friends when all turns to dust.”

Also check out this blast from the past and beautifully done:

Spending my Sunday editing this adorable session of Troy. I have photographed Troy as a newborn, at 6 months and now for his 1st birthday. As you can imagine, this family holds a special place in my heart. They are truly the sweetest people! Stay tuned for a blog post featuring all three sessions.

Being that I just started this blog in February, there are so many sessions that I haven’t been able to share.  This was a session I photographed a few months ago in celebration of Josie’s 1st birthday. I can go on and on about how awesome this family is, but I think it is pretty evident in the photographs. :) Josie is just a sweet, funny, brilliant little baby girl and I had so much fun spending the morning with her family- from hanging out in her nursery, to breaking for a snack, to a family stroll down Clarion Alley and then back home for a little splish splash in the tub, she stole my heart. It was one of those sessions where I didn’t want to stop clicking my camera shutter. Looking forward to photographing your second birthday Josie!

I love the chalkboard picture mama made for her!

I vaguely remember having to pick my jaw up from the ground when I saw this bubble chair hanging from the living room ceiling!

The girl’s name Kaia is a variant of Kai (Hawaiian) and Kaya (Japanese, Zulu, Turkish, Hopi, Hindi), and the meaning of Kaia is “the sea; restful place, yew tree, forgiveness; home; stone; willow, wise child; the one with the beautiful body, profile” Scandinavian – pure, Greek – from the earth.

I’ve always been interested in etymology, taking careful consideration when naming my own children. On what felt like the coldest day of winter, I was filled up with warmth photographing beautiful 10 month old Kaia. (who coincidentally shares the same namesake as our 3rd born.) We spent the morning playing at the Koret Children’s Playground in Golden Gate Park where Kaia took her first carousel ride, sat under a giant ocean wave and snuggled her mama as they listened to her papa strum his guitar. (Kaia’s parents are both talented musicians and artists.) After a fun morning of leaky cold noses we ended our session at Ocean Beach, how fitting. I could hang out with this family all day! They were so laid back and easy going which makes for such an enjoyable shoot. Mega cute baby and super styling fits, help a little too. ;)  xoxo, nancy

How adorable is this one year old baby girl? Those cheeks, lips and wavy wisps of hair!  She has the sweetest parents too and we had a blast hanging out around their neighborhood. Through outfit and location changes, Ena maintained the sweetest disposition. I love the floral jumper that her mom made for her. She has some mad crafting skills, including some crocheted nunchucks and a Bruce Lee bright yellow jumpsuit. SO CUTE! The traditional Korean hanbok gown was worn to celebrate her dol, or first birthday. The colors and detail are so striking! Thanks for letting me share this special time with your family!
